Grand Cross Badge: multi-piece construction, Gold with blue and white enamels, raised painted image of the Virgin Mary on the obverse centrepiece, unmarked, 42.7 mm x 60.5 mm inclusive of its wreath suspension, on its original full-length sash; and Breast Star: multi-piece construction, Gold with a blue, white and green enamelled insignia bearing a painted image of the Virgin Mary, mounted to a silver star base, unmarked, 76.3 mm x 81.8 mm, vertical pinback flanked by dual prongs. Chipping evident in blue enamels below the cypher of Charles III and in the white enamels on the centrepiece ring on the reverse of the badge, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, Spanish coat-of-arms on the lid, maker marked "M. CEJALVO MADRID" on the inside lid, raised platform with a recessed and slotted medal bed, push release, scuffing and wear evident on the exterior, wear in the fabric overlying the hinged area, case fine.
