In 18k Gold, consisting of a red enamelled Maltese Cross with ball finials, featuring delicate clusters of five rays in each quadrant, obverse medallion exhibiting a hand-painted on enamel design surrounded by the inscription A LA LEALTAD ACRISOLADA (To the Pure Loyalty), reverse centre depicting the crowned cypher FR on a blue enamelled field, surrounded by a white enamelled border inscribed POR ISABEL LA CATOLICA (For Isabella the Catholic), the cross is suspended by a delicate green enamelled wreath and enamelled loop, measures 55.0mm (w) x 91.9mm (h – inclusive of wreath and enamelled suspension loop), weighs 41.1 grams, minor enamel wear on wreath and suspension, enamel on cross is in near mint condition, a beautiful decoration in overall extremely fine condition.
Accompanied by a modern neck ribbon of the order.
