Three-piece construction, insignia in bronze gilt with blue, white and green enamels, mounted to a base in silvered and gilt bronze, the arms of the cross perforated, with five emanating rays between each arm, measuring 61.2 mm (w) x 61.7 mm (h), vertical pinback flanked by dual stays, intact enamels, extremely fine.
Footnote: The Royal and Military Order of St Hermenegildo was instituted on November 28, 1814 and awarded to all ranks of the armed forces and civil guard for faithful service, in four grades: Grand Cross, Star, Commander and Knight.
