An outstanding ball-tipped enameled white Maltese cross in silver, presenting typical crossed laces in each quadrant also in silver, encompassing with a silver vertical sword, the obverse superposing by a gilded figure of St. Penafort with multiple-colored enamels, reverse with button for attachment, measuring 24.66 mm (w) x 26.95 mm (h), near mint condition. Accompanied by a hard-shelled black case, the interior lid is in white-cream silk inscribed by the maker’s name VILLANUEVA Y LAISECA, MADRID, with white medal bed in cotton, measuring 87 mm (w) x 33 mm (h) x 90 mm (l), presenting minor wearing surface, functional push-button, very good condition.
