A red enameled Arrow Cross in silver gilt, obverse centre featuring a surmounted enameled white and green sword on a gilded background inscribed AL MERITO POLICIAL (to Police Merit), the reverse with buttonhole for attachment, measuring 19.25 mm (w) x 19.02 mm (h), with minor toned silver, very good.
Footnote: The Spanish Order of Police Merit was created originally as a Police Medal in 1943. Currently it is awarded to the members of the Spanish Police in four grades: Gold Medal, Silver Medal, Cross with Red Distinction and Cross with White Dadge. The Cross with Red Distinction is awarded in recognition of injured in the act of service, for three or more services in which aggression with weapons, self-denying or showing high value, in circumstances of danger to his person.
