(Real y Muy Distinguida Orden de Carlos III). Instituted September 19, 1771 by King Charles III. A lovely breast star, in silver, presenting a large faceted Maltese cross with ball finials with blue enamel details in the center of each arm, faceted fleur-de-lis in each quadrant, the obverse medallion presents the cypher of Charles III surrounded by a green enamel wreath and a blue enamel ring with a faceted ring on each side, the reverse offers a single vertical pin flanked by dual stays, measures 75.7mm (w) x 80.6mm (h), weighs 64.8 grams, enamels intact, a lovely star in extremely fine condition.
