In bronze gilt with red, white and blue enamels, measuring 42 mm (w) x 60.3 mm (h) inclusive of its crown suspension, intact enamels, gilt wear evident on the bar under the crown on both sides, original peacetime ribbon, on a traditional Spanish-style horizontal hanger with pinback, near extremely fine.
Footnote: The Order of Military Merit was instituted on August 3, 1864 by Queen Isabel II and revised on many occasions (1931, 1936, 1942, 1970, 1977, 1995, 2003). It is awarded for acts of bravery, distinction, service or merit by members of the Armed Forces, or civilians in support of the military.
