Spain, State. An Order of the Knights Hospitaller of St. John, Breast Star, c.1950
Constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, obverse presenting as a white enameled Maltese Cross, with central gilt lowercase letter “h”, joined through the arms by radiant red enameled rays, on top of a finely-pebbled eight-pointed star, reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, flanked by dual attachment hook, unmarked, measuring 88.14 mm (w) x 88.11 mm (h), weighing 66.8 grams, minor flecking of enamels evident but otherwise in near extremely fine condition.
