Spain, Franco Period. An Air Force Officer Dagger with Belt Buckle & Portepee, by NF Toledo, c.1930
A dagger measuring 52 cm with the scabbard on, constructed of a nickel-plated steel blade, maker marked FN TOLEDO on the reverse ricasso, with unsharpened edges and a semi-sharp tip, blade exhibits faint scratches common to extraction and return to scabbard, the blade itself measures 37.5 cm, red felt buffer pad remains intact, the handle is constructed of golden-yellow bakelite, the crossguard presents the air force insignia on one side and the coat of arms on the other, accompanied by the gilded scabbard, marked with a 1 and a 3, with chains and hangers, and in overall very fine condition, accompanied by matching belt buckle and portepee, also in very fine condition.
