In silver, a miniature consisting of an eight-pointed multi-rayed star, with obverse centre in silver gilt presenting an enameled white Latin Cross, with alternated lions and castles in each quadrant, central medallion depicting an enameled typical of time period Spain's coat of arms, surmounted by an Imperial Spanish crown with a beneath clasp on the 12 o'clock arm, reverse with buttonhole for attachment, measuring 22.86 (w) x 22.68 mm (h), presenting minor crack on the white enamels, good.
Footnote: The Order of Military Merit was instituted in Spain by Queen Isabella II on August 3, 1864. The Order was created to recognize military personnel for outstanding and meritorious actions during the performance of their duties in time of war, or peace.
