A King Alfonso XIII Court/Privy Chamber Key, Cased
Silver gilt, bow of the key illustrating the cypher of King Alfonso XIII (1886-1931) in the centre, flanked by a castle at the left and a lion at the right, the side arches of the key with feathering and topped by lion heads, surmounted by the Royal crown, a fleur-de-lis below, ornate feathering on the stem, collar and tip, intertwined design forming the bit, 42.5 mm x 112 mm, nice detail, scattered gilt wear, near extremely fine. In its hardshelled case of issue, maker marked "C. de ANSORENA JOYERIA MADRID" on the inside lid, deep red velvet raised key bed in the centre flanked by empty medal beds on either side, push tab release, scuffed exterior, case very fine.
