Spain, Spanish State. A Falange Militia Gorillo Cap
A well-preserved Falange militia gorilla cap, constructed of dark blue cotton twill. The outer circumference features embroidered salmon-pink piping set around the sides and crossing to meet at the crown. Emanating from the peak is a red cotton-blended tassel which descends from the front. Also stitched onto the peak is an insignia consisting of a dark blue cotton backer bearing a turquoise-blue Falange insignia consisting of a yoke on top of a quiver of arrows. The interior rim is embroidered into a sweatband, but otherwise presents plain. Fully unmarked, the cap measures approximately 262 mm (l) x 120 mm (h) when folded flat. There is some minor material fatigue evident to the exterior material, but the cap remains in an overall extremely fine condition.
