A Medal of the Spanish Blue Division in silver, with obverse featuring a National Eagle of the Spanish Army with the falange arrows symbol on its chest, superposed by an Iron Cross in black enamels displaying a swastika, surrounded by a laurel wreath with Imperial Spanish crown on the top, reverse featuring Novgorod Kremlin surrounded by a chain wreath, displaying the inscription RUSIA 1941 on the bottom, measuring 37.20 mm (w) x 45.50 (h - inclusive of Imperial crown), original ribbon, suspended by a typical Spanish-style horizontal broach hanger with pinback, extremely fine, accompanied by cardboard box of issue, measuring 90.92 mm (w) x 47.34 mm (h) x 15.42 mm (w), marked "MEDALLA DE TROPA / DONATIVO DEL MINISTERIO DEL EJÉRCITO" on the front panel, marked "MINISTERIO DEL EJÉRCITO MEDALLA CONMEMORATIVA" on the rear panel, maker marked "DIEZ Y COMPAÑIA, S. A. - Madrid" on the side panel, indented, stained and cracked box, fair.
Footnote: The Spanish Medal for Russian Campaign was instituted by the government of Francisco Franco in 1943, in commemoration of the Spanish volunteers belonged to the Blue Division who served to German forces at the Russian front during the Second World War between 1943-1944.
