Medalla de Sufrimientos por la Patria. Instituted in 1814, revised in 1900. In bronze gilt with blue and white enamels, measuring 32 mm in diameter, intact enamels, original ribbon suspended from a traditional Spanish-style horizontal hanger with pinback, extremely fine.
Footnote: The Medal of Suffering for the Motherland was a Spanish decoration, created to reward members of the Spanish Army and other allied nations, having been wounded and injured in combat.
