A Fine Photo of Sabiha Gökçen; First Female Fighter Pilot - An official press photo (12cm x 17cm) of Sabiha visiting Belgrade, Yugoslavia, in early 1930's, being greeted at the Belgrade airport by the Yugoslav Air Force personnel; she is wearing Yugoslav Pilot's badge and the order of White Eagle. Footnote: Sabiha Gökçen (22 March 1913 - 22 March 2001) was a Turkish aviator. According to the Air University, she was the world's first female fighter pilot, and the first Turkish female combat pilot, aged 23. She was one of the eight adopted children of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
