Constructed of a silvered bronze alloy with red enamels, consisting of a five-pointed star with each arm completing in a ball finial, the obverse bearing a raised silvered monogram of Sultan Mehmed V, within a crescent moon of identical construction, the reverse with nine visible rivets securing the obverse features in place, with an elongated block hinge and banjo-style pinback meeting a round wire catch, unmarked but with the physical characteristics of manufacture by J. Godet & Co., Berlin, measuring 56.95 mm (w) x 53.87 mm (h), weighing 28.4 grams, with some loss of finish and flecking of enamels evident, in overall near extremely fine condition.
