Constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, the obverse consisting of a diamond with white enameled borders, with a black enameled diamond centrepiece overlaid by a gilt sickle and hammer, bearing crossed gilt canons, topped by a red enameled five-pointed star, flanked by a laurel leaf branch bearing a red enameled banner with a gilt Cyrillic inscription of “1ГВ ММАУ”, the reverse with a screw and backplate, maker marked “МОНЕТНЫЙ ДВОР” for the Soviet Mint, measuring 25.36 mm (w) x 49.62 mm (h), some chipping and flecking evident to the enamels, in overall better than very fine condition.
