What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Russia, Soviet Union. A Medal for the Defence of the Caucasus

(Медаль за оборону Кавказа). Instituted in 1944. In brass, measuring 32 mm in diameter, edge nicks, contact marks, original ribbon, mounted to a five-sided magnetic metal suspension with pinback, the suspension with a partial manufacturer's mark on its reverse, better than very fine.

 

Footnote: The Medal for the Defence of the Caucasus was established on May 1, 1944 by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR. Its statute was modified by multiple resolutions of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, on May 16, 1944, June 2, 1944, June 5, 1944, March 10, 1945, March 15, 1945, and lastly by decree № 2523-X of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of July 18, 1980. It was awarded to all participants in the defence of the Caucasus, which included soldiers of the Red Army, sailors of the Navy, troops of the NKVD, as well as persons from the civilian population who took part in the defence of the Caucasus during the battle for the Caucasus.
