Yugoslavia, Serbia. Six Chetnik Photographs
Three photos illustrate groups of soldiers, one of which has a group of fourteen soldiers, twelve of which are number keyed in black ink and matched to names inscribed on the reverse, another of a group of fifteen soldiers, while the third photo is of a large group in front of a building with six standards in the background. The remaining three photos are varied in their content: one shows six soldiers standing while others are in the prone position for rifle practice in front of them, one is of a group of soldiers marching single file through the snow, while another features a soldier cranking an automobile with eight occupants that include four soldiers, a man and three woman. All are in black and white, two with a gloss finish, one with a semi-gloss finish, three with a matte finish, five with postcard style backers, two bearing inscriptions on their reverses, one with a large official stamp in blue ink, all with straight edges, ranging in size from 133 mm (w) x 83 mm (h) to 130 mm (w) x 95 mm (h), one with a large vertical crease in the centre along with a series of emanating horizontal creases, three exhibiting light soiling, the other two are very clean and crisp, fair to near extremely fine.
