Yugoslavia, Kingdom. A Lot of Personal Photographs from the Estate of Đorđe Mahnovski, White Russian Émigré
An extensive lot of 72 photographs from the estate of Đorđe Mahnovski, a member of the White Russian Émigré community in the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and a graduate of the Russian Cadet Corps in Bela Crkva, including studio portraits of Mahnovski alone and with family, as well as many images depicting him in the uniforms of Yugoslav military academies and the Royal Yugoslav Army, the latter often with other military personnel, some images bearing handwritten reverse inscriptions in both Latin and Cyrillic script, indicating that the photos were taken in Belgrade, Bela Crkva, Subotica, and Bucharest, with dates ranging from 1919 until 1938, many of the photographs with postcard arrangements on the reverse, with age-appropriate material fatigue and soiling evident throughout, in overall near extremely fine condition.
