A buckle in tombac and aluminum (completely hand crafted, hand chiseled), 56mm wide and 78mm high, very well executed, with fine hand engraved details; attached to a heavy, high quality leather belt, 60mm high, with two attachments for hand granades; a large size belt, circa 1944 period manufacture. In worn condition, very fine overall and very scarce.
Footnote: this type of the hand crafted belt buckles were produced in small quantities for high ranking Officer's during 1944-45 period; later buckles were machine produced starting in mid 1945.
