(Орден југословенске звезде). Instituted February 1 1954. Type II. A lovely I Class set, the badge featuring a silver gilt decoration, the medallion presenting a golden star with red enamelling on a blue enamelled field, reverse is plain and affixed to the sash, measures 59.6mm (w) x 59mm (h), weighs 118.3 grams (including sash), light wear to gilt, sash shows areas of fading colour and heavy creasing, badge remains in extremely fine condition. Accompanied by the star of the order, featuring a ten point silver star with faceted rays, the obverse matches that of the medallion in silver gilt and enamels, the star features ten beautiful synthetic rubies, the reverse presents a single pin suspension and three rivets on the reverse plate to affix the obverse medallion, measures 78.4mm (w) x 76.9mm (h), weighs 122.4 grams, light gilt wear on the obverse, reverse presents gilt wear, pin and catch functional, in near extremely fine condition.
Footnote: The order was mostly awarded to foreign heads of state and other distinguished foreigners, for the development and strengthening of peace and cooperation between nations. Only 66 awards were made to Yugoslavians, and 93 made to foreigners.
