Finland, Republic. A 1941-1943 Northern Front Cross
Constructed of gilded bronze with enamels, consisting of Cross Pattée, the obverse with blue enameled arms, with a central black enameled medallion bearing the flags of Finland and Germany, with central dates “1941-43”, circumscribed by an inscription of “POHJOISRINTAMA - DIE NORDFRONT”, within an oak leaf wreath, with a mobile swastika protruding through the quadrants bearing inscription of “SALLA”, “KIESTINKI”, “UHTUA”, and “PETSAMO”, the reverse with two visible rivets holding the obverse features in place, with a screw and backplate, unmarked, measuring 34.68 mm (w) x 34.64 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
