What's a max bid?

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

F.", reverse illustrating the Arc de Triomphe, inscribed "A L'ARMÉE" at the left, "FRANÇAISE" at the right and "HAUTEUR 152 PIEDS 3 P ....." below, engraver marked "MONTAGNY F.", measuring 52.5 mm in diameter, bruised, edge nicks, contact marks); 

2. Medal Commemorating the Battle of Jena 1806 (in bronze, obverse illustrating Napoleon Bonaparte (Emperor Napoleon I), surrounded by the inscription in Latin "NAPOLEO GALL. IMP. ITAL. REX GERM.
