France, II Empire. Expedition to Mexico Campaign Medal, by Arthus Bertrand, c.1864

(Médaille commémorative de l'expédition du Mexique). Instituted in 1863. In silvered bronze, maker marked with the Arthus Bertrand of Paris insignia and marked "BRONZE" on the edge, measuring 29.5 mm in diameter, scattered silvering wear, importantly, the medal is accompanied by its original ribbon, near extremely fine.

Footnote: The Expedition to Mexico Commemorative Medal was instituted on August 29, 1863 and awarded for service in the Mexican Expedition of 1862-1863.
