What's a max bid?

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Order of Merit for Tourism, Officer (in silver gilt, hallmarked with a "1" flanked by dual cornucopias and engraver marked "POILLERAT" on the reverse, measuring 31.3 mm (w) x 42.7 mm (h), large rosette on its original ribbon, scattered gilt wear); Order of Merit for Tourism, Knight (in silvered bronze, cornucopia hallmarked, marked "BR" (bronze) and engraver marked "POILLERAT" on the reverse, measuring 31.5 mm (w) x 42.7 mm (h), original ribbon with dual prong pinback); and Commemorative War Medal 1939-1945 (in bronze, measuring 28 mm (w) x 37.7 mm (h), original ribbon). Near extremely fine.

 

Footnote: The Order of Merit for Tourism (Ordre du Mérite Touristique) was instituted on May 27, 1949. It was awarded for meritorious services to tourism in France, in three grades: Commander, Officer and Knight. It was discontinued on January 1, 1964 and replaced by the National Order of Merit. The Commemorative War Medal 1939-1945 (Médaille commémorative de la guerre 1939-1945) is a commemorative medal of France established on May 21, 1946, to recognize individual participation in the Second World War.
