Germany. A 1933-1945 Issue Railway Defence (Bahnschutz) Leader’s Belt & Buckle
A fine example of a period-worn 1933-1945 issue Railway Defence (Streifendienst/Bahnschutz) leader’s belt and belt buckle. The buckle is constructed of stamped aluminum, with a silver aluminum finish; the obverse consisting of a raised pebbled field depicting a winged train wheel above a mobile swastika, surrounded by two ropes with “Deutsche Reichsbahn” written within it; the reverse hollow, stamped with the maker mark of “F.W. Assmann”, and “DRGM”; measuring 52 mm in diameter; complete with its receiver and catch; the belt constructed of thick brown leather; marked “105”; with an additional leather tab with seven rows of two vertically oriented holes for length adjustment of the belt; measuring 4.4 cm (w) x 112.5 cm (l); a worn example, with a greasy film on the leather; in overall near very fine condition.
