What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

A group of Third Reich period identification documents, including an identification card for Karl Laible. Born 15 September 1894 in Mühlhausen. Issued 4 December 1943 and measuring 104 mm (w) x 148 mm. In better than very fine condition.

An identification card for Klaus Krahuest. Born 19 October 1899 in Berlin. Issued 19 March 1940 and measuring 103 mm (w) x 150 mm (h). In good condition.

A Volksliste (German People’s List) identification card for Herbert Grollmisch. Born 29 March 1898 in Birnbaum (now Międzychód, Poland). Issued 5 November 1941 and measuring 105 mm (w) x 150 mm (h). In near very fine condition.

An employment card belonging to Eduard Chraplak. Born 5 June 1908 in Bottrop. Chraplak was a teacher at a Polish language school serving the Ruhr Pole population. The card was issued 10 April 1942 and measures 78 mm (w) x 112 mm (h). The spine has been taped together and material fatigue is evident, otherwise in very fine condition.

An employment card belonging to Anton Strigl, born 1904. Strigle is described as a foreman for a subsidiary of Hamburg-based firm G.L. Gaiser in Lemberg (now Lviv, Ukraine). Issued 1944 and measuring 97 mm (w) x 128 mm (h). In very fine condition.

An employment card for Stanislaus Pawlowski, born 30 April 1908 in Zlenczy. Pawlowski is described as an ore miner in the town of Salzgitter. Issued 1 July 1944 and measuring 148 mm (w) x 106 mm (h). The spine has separated and the booklet has been taped together. Otherwise in good condition.
