A mint and unissued example of a third reich period Police 25-Year Long Service Cross “Dienstauszeichnung für Treue Dienste in der Polizei”; a cross pattee in gilt bronze; on loop for suspension; with its mint and unissued period original ribbon; with an oval oak wreath and police-style eagle with outstretched wings and a wreathed mobile swastika in its talons; the reverse with a centre inscribed “Für Treue Dienste in der Polizei” (For Loyal Services in the Police); measuring 43.17 mm (w) x 43.31 mm (h); weighing 22.4 grams. Accompanied by its presentation case of issue; constructed of heavy pressed paper, with a green faux leather (leatherette) exterior; the exterior embossed with the numeral “25” within a laurel wreath in gold; with a lined interior lid, slotted medal bed, severed interior fabric hinge cover, non-functional spring catch with stud release and functional exterior metal hinge; measuring 51 mm (w) x 102 mm (h); in absolutely mint and unissued condition.
