Germany. A Second War Feldherrnhalle Cufftitle
The cuff-title is constructed of "BeVo" machine embroidered style olive-green rayon; centering, machine embroidered, in traditional German Sütterlin style script “Feldherrnhalle” in off-white cotton threading; with a horizontal line embroidered into the top and bottom edges; measuring approximately 39cm (or 15 inches); unworn example, in near mint condition.
Footnote: the Feldherrnhalle Cufftitle was worn since around 1935, initially by the by Officers and Men serving with SA-Wachtstandarte Feldherrnhalle,as a honorary award. From 1941 as the War effort intensified and more and more men were drafted into the Wehrmacht, in 1942, more units primarily consisting of SA men were allowed to wear Feldherrnhalle Cufftitle. In 1943, the 271ST Infantry Regiment Feldhernhalle was detached from the 93RDID, with purpose of forming 60TH Panzer Grenadier Division Feldherrnhalle; the members were alowed to wear the Cufftitle. In 1944, the members of the PanzerKorps Feldherrnhalle were allowed to wear this cufftitle as well.
