Germany. A Wehrmacht Heer Deutsches Afrikakorps (DAK) Belt Buckle
An example of a field-worn Deutsches Afrikakorps (DAK) belt buckle; constructed of metal (magnetic) with an olive drab finish; the obverse depicting a raised slightly pebbled field with a National Eagle clutching a mobile swastika in its talons, surrounded by two ropes inscribed “Gott Mit Uns” (God with us) on the top half, and two oak twigs on the bottom half that are tied together with a ribbon; the reverse with a standard catch and a double-prong crossbar; attached to the buckle is also a canvas belt tab as worn on the belt; measuring 64 mm (w) x 48 mm (h); a worn example; in overall fine condition.
