Germany, DJ. A Passing Of The Pimpfenprobe Document With Recipient’s Photo, 1943
The document states that Achim Mittelbach of Fähnlein “Quitzow” 1/82 has passed the so called “Pimpfenprobe”, the official admission exam for the DJ, consisting of a physical and a knowledge part. He is now eligible to wear the badges and insignia of the HJ, as well as an HJ knife. The document is dated to Göttingen (central Germany) on December 21, 1943. The Fähnlein’s honour name, “Quitzow”, presumably refers to Prussian Major General Christian Heinrich von Quitzow (1737–1806). Measuring 146x207mm, very fine condition with light fraying, some creasing, and multiple folding creases. The photo shows Mittelbach in full DJ uniform. Measuring 59x91mm, extremely fine condition with minimal creasing.
