Germany, Empire. A Telegrapher’s Belt Buckle, c. 1914
(Telegraph-Koppelschloss). Constructed of brass, the obverse with a separately applied nicke-silver disk displaying the royal crown on a raised field, circumscribed “Gott Mit Uns” (God With Us) along with an open-ended wreath below, a bracket is riveted to each side of the buckle via two rivets each for wires to be passed through, the reverse plain, depicting two solder points, a catch, and a standard dual-prong spring bar, measuring 102 mm (w) x 46 mm (h), a worn example, in overall good condition.
