Germany, Empire. A War Commemorative Medal of 1870/1871, Mounted

(Kriegsdenkmünze für die Feldzüge 1870/71). Constructed of bronze, the obverse depicting an Iron Cross that is dated “1870/1871” in the center within a wreath, the reverse reverse bearing the crowned royal monogram of Wilhelm, inscribed “Dem siegreichen Heere” and “Gott war mit uns, Ihm sei die Ehre” in Gothic lettering, measuring 29.10 mm in diameter, suspended from its mounting via its period original ribbon, with a zink core, a black wool backer, and a horizontal pinback, in overall very fine condition.
