An iron cross paty constructed of silver with a blackened iron core, the obverse centre bearing a sprig of three oak leaves and the 6 o’clock arm bearing the date “1939”, with a ribbed border and smooth edge, the reverse is plain and bears a vertical pinback with a flat wire catch, 44.10 mm (w) x 44.16 mm (h), weighing 16.3 g, very fine.
