The Wehrpässe are all examples of the Second Type, each with a grey thin cardboard binding with a cover displaying a Reichsadler with its head turned to left (as viewed), wings spread open, holding in its claws an oak leaves wreath with a mobile swastika, and Gothic letters spelling “Wehrpaß.” Each Wehrpaß contains 52 pages with personal data, examination and recruitment information, in addition to reports of active military service. The inside rear cover is marked "D.R.G.M. (Deutsches Reichsgebrauchsmuster) 1 367 174" and maker marked "Metten & Co., Berlin SW 61" on the back cover. Each measures approximately 10.5 cm (w) x 14.6 cm (h) and are in very fine condition.
1. The Wehrpaß was issued to Alfred Richter on 7 February 1938 in Berlin-Rummelsburg. The box in the upper-right corner is stamped in black ink with the letter “R” and the bottom-centre is stamped “Heer” in red ink. A portrait of Richter in plain clothes is riveted to the second page and stamped with two diagonally opposite stamps. Data pertaining to Richter’s personal information are on page 3, his military service on page 12, his training and military exercises in time of peace on pages 28 to 29, and his military duty during leave status on page 36. Richter, born 20 September 1894, listed his occupation as Accountant. During the First World War, he served with the Reserve Infantry Regiment 8 (III Army Corps). Includes two Wehrpaß-Notiz, one dated 1 October 1940 and the other dated 17 February 1945.
2. The Wehrpaß was issued to Hans Gruschka on 20 March 1939 in Leipzig. The box in the upper-right corner presents the letter “G” written in blue ink and the bottom-centre box is empty. A portrait of Gruschka in plain clothes is riveted to the second page and stamped with two diagonally opposite stamps. Data pertaining to Gruschka’s personal information are on page 3, his physical examination on page 5, and training on page 41. Sarischlea,14 March 1907, listed his occupation as Locksmith. Accompanied by a small black-and-white photograph of a young man in plain clothes, dated 6 December 1944.
3. The Wehrpaß was issued to Erwin Richter on 28 April 1938 in Berlin. The box in the upper-right corner presents the letter “R” written in black ink and the bottom-centre is stamped “Heer” in red ink. A portrait of Richter in plain clothes is riveted to the second page and stamped with two diagonally opposite stamps. Data pertaining to Richter’s personal information are on page 3, his physical examination on page 5, his military service on pages 11 to 12, his discharge on page 24, and his military duty during leave status on page 36. Richter, born 5 October 1900, enlisted on 21 May 1918 and served until 24 November 1918. During World War II, he was categorized under Landwehr I for trained men between the age of 35 and 45. Accompanied by a Wehrpaß-Notiz dated 4 September 1941.
