Germany, Heer. A Set of Pith Helmet Insignia
(Heer Insignien für Tropenhelm). A set of mis-matched Heer pith helmet insignia, including one shield constructed of aluminum, the obverse bearing a raised and silvered Heer-style German national eagle clutching a mobile swastika, the reverse with all three attachment prongs intact, maker marked “R.K.” for Rudolf Karneth & Söhne, Gablonz, measuring 35 mm (w) x 43 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition, and; one shield constructed of magnetic metal, the obverse bearing a painted black, white, and red Wehrmacht tricolour motif, the reverse with all three reverse attachment prongs intact, unmarked, measuring 35 mm (w) x 42 mm (h), with moderate loss of paint and some oxidation evident, in very fine condition.
