What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Germany, Heer. A Silver Grade Close Combat Clasp with Award Document and Photos, to Ernst Langscheidt

(Nahkampfspange in Silber mit Verleihungsurkunde und Bilder). A Silver Grade Close Combat Clasp, constructed of silvered zink, the obverse consisting of a central square oak leaf wreath, topped by a Wehrmacht eagle clutching mobile swastika, overlaid by a crossed bayonet and stick grenade, flanked on each side by four oak leaves and sun rays, the reverse with a barrel hinge and horizontal banjo-style pinback meeting a flat wire catch, maker marked “R.S.” for Rudolf Souval, Vienna, with the flattened “R” characteristic of Souval’s early pieces, measuring 96.80 mm (w) x 26.04 mm (h), weighing 30.8 grams, the clasp demonstrates oxidation and loss of finish throughout and is missing its backplate, in fair condition; accompanied by its award document, named to “GRENADIER ERNST LANGSCHEIDT” of Grenadier-Regiment 123, awarded for 30 days of close quarters combat, issued on 30 December 1944, featuring the signature of an unidentified Major and regimental commander, measuring 138 mm (w) x 205 mm (h), with minor material fatigue evident, in very fine condition; also included are two photos of Langscheidt, including a Studio portrait depicting him in uniform and wearing a Stahlhelm, the reverse in postcard format and marked “MIMOSA”, measuring 90 mm (w) x 130 mm (h), in very fine condition, and a small photo depicting Langscheidt in uniform and presumably with his father and son, unmarked, measuring 62 mm (w) x 48 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
