Germany, Heer. A Tropical Flak/Artillery Officer’s Service Tunic
(Heer Waffenrock). A Second War German Heer (Army) tunic fabricated from olive green cotton, with five pebbled, silver-coloured metal buttons bordering the breast and meeting an equal number of reinforced button holes on the opposite side. The collar presents matching collar tabs constructed of dark greek wool with buckram cores, topped by machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire insignia bisected by red threaded bars, and each measure 45 mm (w) x 75 mm (l). Each shoulder features a pebbled, silvered metal button and cotton loop for housing of the stnadard Flak/Artillery shoulder boards. The right breast features an officer's breast eagle and the front has four pockets, each with a fold over the flap with a reinforced buttonhole and housing a pebbled, silvered metal button. On the interior, there is a deep narrow pocket sewn in place immediately inside the opening on the right side, the pocket with a small bakelite button and reinforced buttonhole. There are thick green cotton straps sewn below each armpit, each strap with reinforced eyelets, the bottom three line up with the eyelets on either side at the waist on the exterior. Well marked on the right interior side in black, as well as double marked below collar with 239 and a third similar mark on bottom. The tunic measures approximately 48 cm mm across the shoulders, 76 cm in length, and 63 cm in the sleeves. The tunic is in better than extremely fine condition.
