Germany, HJ. A 1937 Reichskampf Munich Participation Badge by Ferdinand Hoffstätter

(Reichskampf München Teilnehmerabzeichen). Constructed of gilded tombak with multi-coloured enamels, horizontal pinback, the obverse with a central depiction of the Feldherrnhalle, above an inscription of “MÜNCHEN”, topped by an inscription of “REICHSKAMPF” with a German national eagle overlaid by an enameled HJ insignia and a date of “1937”, circumscribed by an inscription of “HAUPTSTADT DER BEWEGUNG” (“CAPITAL OF THE MOVEMENT”), the reverse with a maker’s mark of “HOFFSTÄTTER, BONN”, measuring 45.22 mm (w) x 46.95 mm (h), weighing 18.6 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
