What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

Your entered maximum bid will not be disclosed to the seller or other auction participants at any point.

Max bidding example:

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

Buyer's Premium

All bids are subject to a Buyer's Premium which is in addition to the placed successful bid. The following rate of Buyer's Premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each Lot that you purchase:

Germany, HJ. A HJ/DJ Winter Ski Cap

(HJ Dienstmünze). This is an extremely well-preserved HJ/DJ winter ski cap, constructed of smooth black wool. The cap features a fold-down panel that is held in place at the front by a strap bearing dual reinforced eyelets meeting a magnetic metal buckle on the opposite strap, which rests upon the visor when not in use. Pinned into the peak of the cap is a HJ insignia in the form of a black mobile swastika on a white- and red-enameled checkered background. The adornment measures 15 mm (w) x 25 mm (h) and is marked on the reverse with the Reichszeugmeisterei (RZM) logo and code “M1/102” for maker Frank & Reif, Stuttgart. The stiff, protruding visor, with intact cardboard reinforcement, is set securely into the body of the cap. The interior features a 40 mm-wide dark brown leather sweatband held in place by a row of machine stitching, pinned together at the reverse with a gilded magnetic metal clip. The interior also features a machine-embroidered, dark blue rayon liner. The cap is unmarked and measures approximately 170 mm (w) x 255 mm (l) x 125 mm (h). It is accompanied by a black-and-white photograph of the owner wearing the cap, measuring 90 mm (w) x 140 mm (h). The reverse is stamped “C. Leonhardt, Photo-Werkschau, Heilbronn-Böckingen, Telefon 3812”. There is also a handwritten inscription reading “Rudi, 1944”. Minor fatigue of the exterior wool is evident, but the cap is in an otherwise extremely fine condition.
