A double-sided 91st Oldenburg Jäger Regiment banner, constructed of multi-coloured cotton, trimmed with gold bullion wire cording and suspended from a bronze hanger, with a gold bullion wire tassel, the obverse consisting of a blue and red shield, topped by a machine-embroidered golden-yellow inscription of “O.J.R. 91” and a white cotton shoulder strap bearing a red regimental cypher and a coppered bronze button with a raised number “10”, the reverse with an Imperial German tri-colour overlaid by silver-grey Stahlhelm, circumscribed by a machine-embroidered silver-grey inscription of “DIE TREUE IST DAS MARK DER EHRE” (“LOYALTY IS A SIGN OF HONOUR”), unmarked, measuring 168 mm (w) x 258 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
