The heavy duty cardboard folder with document is dated to Liegnitz (present-day Legnica, southwest Poland) on April 1, 1897. It was given to Otto von Bismarck on occasion of his 82nd birthday by the counsel of the city of Liegnitz. It includes 101 names of local businessmen and esteemed citizens as vicarious representatives The document is a poem written in the local Silesian-German dialect.
Measuring 350 mm (w) x 450 mm (h), presenting light scuffing of the cover, the document being undamaged, yet no longer attached to the folder, remains very fine.
