Germany, Imperial. A First War German Iron Cross Decoration
(Eisernes Kreuz). A cross pattée of multi-piece construction with a blackened iron core (magnetic) within a ribbed border; on loop for suspension, the obverse with a raised central letter “W” with the date “1914” in raised numbering on the lower arm, an imperial crown on the upper arm, holes pierced in the left and right arms for adhering to an item such as cigarette case or photograph album, reverse plain and hollow, measures 43.33 mm (w) x 43.30 mm (h), and in good condition.
