Germany, Imperial. A Kaiser Wilhelm II Silver Butter Knife, by D. Vollgold & Sohn
(Buttermesser). Constructed of silver, featuring a rounded and non-serrated blade set on a finely-detailed handle, the obverse with a raised Hohenzollern-style imperial eagle, the reverse with a raised monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm II, the reverse of the blade marked with a crown and crescent moon indicating German manufacture, a silver content number of “800”, and a silversmith mark of “D. VOLLGOLD & SOHN” for the Berlin-based firm, measuring 22 mm (w) x 224 mm (l), weighing 74.4 grams, minor oxidation evident, in overall near extremely fine condition.
