Germany, Imperial. A Medal Ribbon Bar
(Ordensschnalle). A medal ribbon bar featuring three decorations, including a 1914 Iron Cross II Class, constructed of iron and silver, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a blackened magnetic iron core within a ribbed silver frame, the obverse with a central initial “W”, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1914”, the twelve o’clock arm with a royal crown, the reverse with three central oak leaves, the six o’clock arm with a reinstitution date of “1813”, the twelve o’clock arm with initials “FW” topped by a royal crown, unmarked, measuring 43.31 mm (w) x 45.42 mm (h), in very fine condition; Hessian Bravery Medal, constructed of silver, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, the obverse with a leftward-facing profile of Grand Duke Ernst Ludwig, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a central inscription of “FÜR TAPFERKEIT” (“FOR BRAVERY”), with a laurel and oak leaf wreath, unmarked, measuring 33.52 mm in diameter, in very fine condition, and; an Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918, constructed of bronzed magnetic metal, on loop for suspension with its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with central dates “1914-1918”, within an oak leaf, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, the reverse maker marked “JK”, measuring 37.34 mm (w) x 43.16 mm (h), in extremely fine condition; all set on a 98 mm-long magnetic metal bar with a horizontal pinback, unmarked, the stitching fastening the Honour Cross of the World War 1914/1918 to the bar has been severed, in overall very fine condition.
