Germany, Imperial. A Officer’s Brocade Parade Belt
(Feldbine). A belt buckle in fire gilt bronze, illustrating a large W (Wilhelm cipher) fronting an anchor, surmounted by the Imperial crown and surrounded by an open-ended wreath of laurel leaves, on the right end, marked on reverse with owner’s name KAUTTER in black ink, the buckle measuring 60 mm (w) x 60 mm (h). Belt is fabricated with a fine silver bullion wire with three repeating embroidered rows, a central red row flanked by black rows on either side, running the full length of the belt, the reverse of the belt fabricated from a fine navy-blue wool, the right end with a metal hook, the left end with the belt folded over and stitched in place, housing the fire gilt bronze receiving clip, the belt measuring 160 mm (w) x 48 mm (h). Very light gilt wear on the obverse of the buckle, contact marks on the reverse of the buckle from active use, and in overall near very fine condition.
