(Medaillen). A pair of German state decorations, including a Bavarian Military Merit Cross, constructed of copper, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Maltese Cross with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central raised monogram of King Ludwig II, within a stylized belt and buckle bearing an inscription of “MERENTI” (“MERIT”), the reverse bearing a central raised Bavarian national lion rampant, within a stylized belt and buckle bearing an institution date of “1866”, measuring 42.88 mm (w) x 51.06 mm (h), weighing 17.9 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition, and; a Baden Field Service Medal, constructed of bronzed copper, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing a raised Baden griffin clutching a sword and shield bearing the Grand Duchy’s coat of arms, topped by an inscription of “FÜR BADENS EHRE” (“FOR BADEN’S HONOUR”), the reverse bearing a wreathed inscription of “LEOPOLD FÜR TREUEN DIENST IM KRIEGE” (“LEOPOLD - FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN WAR”), unmarked, measuring 31.04 mm in diameter, weighing 16.9 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in better than very fine condition.
