Germany, Imperial. A Southwest Africa Medal, with Three Clasps
(Gedenkmedaille für Südwest Afrika). A circular silver medal, the obverse centre portrays a mythical god of war surrounded by the inscription SUEDWEST AFRIKA 1904-06, the reverse centre shows the royal cipher of Kaiser Wilhelm II, with a laurel branch underneath, surrounded by the words VERDIENST UM DIE EXPEDITION (MERIT FOR THE EXPEDITION), measuring 32.57 mm in diameter, on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, with clasps labelled WATERBERG, GROSS-NABAS, AND OMAHEKE, and in overall very fine condition.
