Germany, Imperial. A Thuringian District Shooting Award
A diamond shaped medal constructed of silver, the obverse bears the right facing bust of Ernst I of Hohenlohe-Langenburg, circumscribed with “ERNST ERBPR. Z. HOHEN-LOHE-LNAGENBURG” and “REGENT V. SACHS. COBURG U. GOTHA” with a crowned coat of arms at the top, with a leaf border, the reverse bears an image of a walled fortress on a hill with a rabbit, tree, target, rifle and flag in the foreground, below is inscribed with “13 THÜRING BEZIRKSSCHIESSEN COBURG”, a shield wit the left facing bust of a woman is at the top with a small castle above, with a leaf border, the obverse is marked “MAX. V. KAWACYNS KL” and marked “850” on the side, measuring 51.93 mm (w) x 65.40 mm (h), with a loop for suspension on a green ribbon, very fine.
